Morning Workshop at Summerfield Waldorf School and Farm; Saturday, October 7: Summerfield Waldorf School and Farm offers students a comprehensive learning environment designed to challenge and support them in strengthening their cognitive, emotional and intentional abilities.  In this workshop for Summerfield faculty, staff, parents, and teens, we will explore how mindfulness can support us in our personal and professional relationships and within the family unit.  9:30 am–11:30 am.

Saturday, October 28:  Mindful Educators Alliance.  This event for educators, counselors, parents, and anyone working with children is offered with the Sonoma County Office of Education and Mindful Schools.  Special guest speakers include Daniel Rechtschaffen, founder of the Mindful Education Institute and the Omega Mindfulness in Education Conference, and author of The Way of Mindful Education: Cultivating Well-being in Teachers and Students. Together, we aim to support the growth of mindfulness education in our region.  Please register in advance here.  9:00 am – 12:00 pm.

Sebastopol Sangha in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh.  This ongoing group for adults meets the first and the third Mondays of the month beginning October 2 and is grounded in the work of celebrated Zen teacher Thich Nhat Hanh.  We will share sitting and walking meditation, a reading, discussion, and tea.  7:00 – 8:30 pm.  Please inquire for the location.

Parenting as Practice: A Mindful Parent’s Circle:  This series for parents is offered in partnership with Stone Creek Zen Center and aims to create a space for parents to pause together in the midst of our busy family lives; to begin or deepen a meditation practice; and to explore how of Zen and mindfulness practices can support our inner wisdom in parenting to come through in our daily lives.  We meet Wednesday evenings, every other week, at Stone Creek on November 1, November 15, November 29, & December 6.  6:30 pm – 8:00 pm.
