Family Programs

Throughout the year, we offer seasonal Family Mindfulness Events.   These are typically half day retreats or evening events where the whole family can come together, deepen or establish a practice, and enjoy sharing time with community.  The program content offered during these events is secular and nature-based.

In past programs, we’ve learned a practice called “heartfulness” while delivering handmade Valentines to seniors at Golden Living Center in Santa Rosa.  We practiced with compassion by preparing meal-boxes for children and families in need through the Catholic Worker, made handmade cards and gifts for children at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital San Fransisco and Oakland Kaiser Pediatric Oncology, and served our homeless population through the Community Church of Sebastopol.

Some events are offered in partnership with Stone Creek Zen Center.

Winter Solstice Spiral, 2014

Our annual Winter Spiral takes place each December.  This night of stillness and reverence  takes place within a candlelit meditation hall.  With mindfulness, each child first walks an evergreen spiral turning inward, gathering light at the center, and then walks the spiral turning outward, bringing light back into the world.

  1. I’m interested in Family Programs. I’m a single mom and want to participate with my 8 year old son. Thank you.
